In the early days of the society, there was no Buddhist altar shop specializing in the society, and everyone enshrined the principal idol on the Buddhist altars of other denominations. Toshio Kojima, the founder, witnessed the reality and was deeply upset.


"Anything is fine as long as it is a principal image like another sect. Since the principal image of Soka Gakkai is the only genuine one, the Buddhist altar must also be genuine."

With this passion in mind, the world's first Buddhist altar store specializing in Soka Gakkai altars, Kongodo, was born.
